Every person deserves a life of independence, dignity, and purpose.
Shepherd's Way provides housing and holistic life-coaching for adults with intellectual disabilities, empowering them to build independent lives, discover their gifts, and thrive in community alongside dedicated mentors.
Our Mission
Launching adults with disabilities into independent, community-engaged, and purpose-driven lives.

A home. A mentor. A future.
Shepherd's Way Waco is a faith-rooted organization dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual disabilities to live independent, community-engaged, and purpose-driven lives. Here is how we got here, what we believe, and why it matters.
Our model is simple: two mentors and two participants in a four-bedroom house. What happens inside is transformative. Participants gain practical independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, employment, and community involvement, while mentors gain invaluable leadership experience. Both grow. Both win.
We believe every person, regardless of ability, has unique gifts the world needs to see.

More than a place to live. A framework for a full life.
Our residential program pairs each participant with a compatible mentor in a shared four-bedroom home. Together, they work through four key areas of independent living: building skills, confidence, and community at every step.
Vocational Skills
Finding purpose through meaningful work. Job readiness, employment support, and career exploration.

Community Integration
Belonging in the wider world utilizing tools like social skills, relationships, volunteering, and civic participation.

Independent Living
Practical home skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and managing day-to-day life with confidence.

Recreation & Leisure
A life well-lived, full of hobbies, fitness, events, and the joy of time freely chosen.
There's a place for you in this work.
Whether you have time, talent, or resources to give, Shepherd's Way has a meaningful way for you to be part of the story.
Sponsor a Participant
Your financial support directly funds a participant's housing, mentorship, and growth. Sponsorship is personal. You'll know exactly whose life you're changing.
Become a Mentor
Live alongside a participant and guide them toward independence. You'll gain leadership skills that last a lifetime and change a life while you do it.
All Ball Weekend: Where community shows up.
Our signature annual event brings together participants, mentors, donors, and the Wichita community for a weekend of celebration, competition, and connection. All Ball Weekend is one of the most important fundraisers of the year, and one of the most fun days on the calendar.
